Kriya Yoga is a scientific technique of meditation, which brings all-round development to a person. The spine is actually magnetized and energized leading to physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual development. Inside the spinal collumn, there are two important channels of Prana, the life energy. The Ida channel is the channel of slothfulness and idleness, while the Pingala channel is one of extreme activity and restlessness. Between these two, there is a third, blocked by the two, the channel of spirituality and calmness. This channel is called the Sushumna, the divine passage.
When a person practices Kriya Yoga, the Shushumna channel is opened and the extrovert and restless mind is calmed, and the downward flowing life energy flows toward the brain, through the medulla obligata. This leads to the pituitary and the fontanelle, which is the place of soul-consciousness and God-consciousness. To enter through this subtle passage, deep concentration and sincere meditation are necessary.
Kriya Yoga is the combination of many marvelous techniques, which through the practice of, one can obtain control over one’s breathing and the physical metabolism and activity, with no strain or hardship.
